Alaska Man Accused In Theft Of Brand-New Truck Released; Then Tries To Steal Semi!

The 44-year-old man who was arrested Wednesday while he was driving a brand-new truck stolen from a local dealership was arrested again late Wednesday after police received a report that he was attempting to steal a commercial 18-wheeler semi and trailer from a lot on Van Horn Road.
According to an Alaska State Troopers news release, police responded to Airport Equipment and Rental at 11:33 p.m. as the semi-truck pulled out, nearly striking a trooper vehicle. The suspect, identified as Jerry Lee Green of Fairbanks, was driving.
Troopers pursued the vehicle, deploying spike strips to stop the semi. Green was arrested without incident. He was still wearing his yellow jumpsuit from Fairbanks Correctional Center and had his court release papers from the earlier case in his pocket, according to troopers. Green was returned to FCC and faces additional charges of theft, eluding and reckless endangerment.
