Man Commits 3 Carjackings In 15 Mins!!

The carjackings began at 5:25 a.m. Saturday when a 36-year old Aurora man was forced to give up his vehicle at gunpoint while he was at a gas station in the 300 block of South Broadway Street, the release said.
The offender, described as a man in his mid-20s with long black hair, threatened the driver and drove away in his gray 2004 Kia minivan.
He didn’t get far before crashing the vehicle. An Aurora patrol officer found the van stalled at 5:33 a.m. on a road near Lake Street and Indian Trail, a few miles away from the carjacking scene, the release said.
A 33-year old Sandwich man had stopped to give the driver of the stolen vehicle emergency aid only to have the suspect abandon the minivan, jump into the good Samaritan’s 2005 Chevrolet and speed away, according to police.
A loaded handgun was found in the minivan, police said.
The carjacking suspect then crashed the second stolen vehicle, police said. Aurora 911 emergency dispatchers received a call at 5:37 a.m. Saturday for a rollover crash on Interstate 88 near Farnsworth Avenue involving the Chevrolet.
A second Good Samaritan stopped to help the suspect, who took the 18-year-old Sycamore woman’s Dodge Avenger and fled on I-88, police said.
