The first arrest occurred about 6:15 p.m. April 22 after a Florida Highway Patrol trooper saw Davis get out of his vehicle on U.S. 19 to fight another driver, reports say. The trooper broke up the fight and noticed Davis appeared impaired.
Davis did poorly on field sobriety tests and couldn’t finish some of them, reports say. He gave breath samples that measured 0.156 and 0.154, about twice the level at which state law presumes intoxication.
He was booked into the Pinellas County jail and released on his own recognizance early the next morning.
At about 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Clearwater police received reports of a motorist driving recklessly in the area of South Fort Harrison Avenue and Chestnut Street. The vehicle came close to hitting other cars and at one point headed the wrong way into traffic, arrest reports say.
