Eugene Brantley, 25, formerly of Palm Bay, was charged with battery, criminal mischief and resisting an officer without violence on Sunday.
A Melbourne police officer responded to Lipscomb Street Rooming House just after 5 p.m. Brantley had struck a man in the chin and knocked a plate of food out of his hand, splattering barbecue sauce on a wall, the report shows.
Brantley was charged with battery. That’s when he defecated in the cruiser, “tensed up” to resist being shackled, and banged his head against the divider cage, police said.
